Andy left Arm before I joined but I encountered him on many occasions playing badminton at lunchtimes at Cherry Hinton.
Long-haired, painted finger nailed, bare-footed and knee/elbow padded, he had a wonderful and original style.
His commitment to getting to a shot saw him often diving for the shuttle and making good use of the elbow/knee pads.
The sports centre staff may then need to admonish him for the streaks left on the court.
Another source of staff discussion was the bare feet, completely against health and safety guidelines.
I could not find a better badminton partner than Andy. Always mild mannered, competitive but still not taking things too seriously.
A great sportsman and a gentlemen.
It was a privilige to count him as a friend.
